COLOR INSPIRATION FOR THE ASSEMBLAGE QUILT PATTERN
Selecting a color palette for a quilt pattern can be the toughest part. If you’re like me, you want all the colors. I often look to nature for color palette inspiration. Flowers, sunrise or sunset, the night sky. All these scenes can be the beginning of a color palette.
Below I provide some color inspiration for my Assemblage Quilt pattern. I hope these palettes spark ideas and good feelings and make you want to create (even if it’s not a quilt!)
WEEKEND SUNSHINE
For this color palette, I was inspired by the sunrise and weekend vibes. These colors make me think of the feeling I got when I ate an Orange Sherbet Push Up as a kid. Joyful.
THE FABRICS
The Weekend Sunshine color palette was created using Kona Solids in the following colors:
IN THE STUDY
I call this color palette In the Study because it reminds me of grand studies filled with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. It feels regal and sophisticated. If this color palette were a person, it would smoke a pipe. These colors give me formal feelings.

The In the Study color palette was created using Kona Solids in the following colors:
COTTAGE GARDEN
I love a cottage garden. Exploding with color and shapes, wild but contained. This color palette was inspired by the vibrancy of a Cottage Garden. Greens, blues and peachy hues give this palette a bright but calming appearance.

The Cottage Garen color palette was created using Kona Solids in the following colors:

About the Assemblage Quilt
My Assemblage sample quilt was made using Painter’s Palette Solids from Paintbrush Studios with a 108” wide back from Ruby Star Society. Haley Fetter of Mistletoe Quilting Co. added edge-to-edge quilting using one of her original pantos.
