Effervescent

Fizzy bubbles. Organic chemistry. Regardless of what you see when you look at this quilt, my hope is that it communicates a feeling of joy. Playing with scale and negative space, this design is a playful take on a hexagon quilt. I used strip piecing to create a variety of shapes and color combinations that bubble up from the bottom of the quilt. The low contrast palette gives the quilt a lightness that lends itself well to its effervescent nature. Effervescent was designed for the 2022 QuiltCon Fabric Challenge and the Hexagon challenge.
